The Adventures of Sock Monkey Season 2 Episode 2: Washington DC, The City of Museums, Monuments and Classified Information Day 1

Hello, dear devoted readers! And I am back for more fun amazing slightly humid sock monkey-packed potentially classified adventures!! Ok, just kidding about the classified part. Or am I? (DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!) Actually kidding this time. Well, let's get started on the adventures! But first...

Introductions!! This is Scotty (see below). Scotty says hi. And he has a utility belt. Which makes it easier for me to carry him around. His name is Scotty mostly because I already have a sock monkey named Spock and I was thinking along the lines of Star Trek. So yeah. Ok. On with the adventures! After I attach a picture below!
Beam me up, Scotty!

Our flight was supposed to be at 2:30 PM and was supposed to be 4 1/2 hrs. Obviously things did not go according to plan. First, our plane was delayed so we didn't finally leave until around 3:30 PM. About two hours into the flight, our pilot announced that there was a mechanical problem and one of the indicator lights was on. And all of us passengers naturally assumed that one of our engines had blown up or something. Which didn't happen (thank goodness) but we still had to reroute to Albuquerque for repairs. And the airport didn't have the part. So they had to fly it over from Phoenix. So we ended up delayed another 5 hrs. At least the airport had ice cream... PICTURES!!!!!
Flying over Sun City. I think.
Flying over [insert random place here].

Flying over somewhere in New Mexico.
Baskin Robbins!!!
I scream, you scream...
...we all scream for ice cream!
'The Dream of Flight'
So we were late. Very late. As in get-to-the-hotel-at-4:30-in-the-morning-and-we-need-to-get-up-at-6 late. That was mildly unpleasant. So yeah. The first day wasn't super eventful besides our airplane being annoying and weird and the super long delay and the ice cream. Which means... Any (*deep breath*) questionscommentsrandomthingsremarkscommentaryyadayadayada, please check out the comment board below. Until then, thanks for reading!! May the sock monkeys be ever in your favor!

  1. Lol. You are so funny. I loved reading this post. Your mom told me about the flight delays - SOOOOO happy you landed safely even though it wasn't your original planned landing time! Can't wait to read more about your trip. xo

  2. It was long flight and tired, and I am so glad that everyone was very calm and kind to each other. At one point, I was worried that we may missed all our plans in DC on Friday. Glad everything worked fine. What a exciting way to started our vacation...
