The Adventures of Sock Monkey Episode 4: To Hike (in Prescott) or Not to Hike... Day 1

So, sorry about the fact that there hasn't been any posts for 3+ weeks but I've been busy, with school and all, but here's another post about the adventures of Sock Monkey! This time we were in Prescott from August 31 to September 1. But I'll start now so you don't have to read a whole speech about late posts so...yeah. Let's get down to business!

We were supposed to get up and get ready by 7 o'clock but, of course, I got up at 8 o'clock. Hey, I like to sleep in late! But we finally got out of the house at 9 o'clock. I know. Time management problems. Aanywaaay, we drove to Watson Lake to rent canoes/kayaks but the man told us that we had to wait two more hours for the rental so we decided to hike around the lake while my dad went to get food because he was hungry. My mom got me to go to the lower trails instead of the real trail for "experience" and what I gained from the walk is this: Don't do the lower trails! Unless you want to have grass and thorny bushes and poisonous flowers brushing your shins all the way down the trail. I suggest that you stick to the main trail. After one hour, we headed back via the main trail and rented out two solo kayaks and headed off. There was a little island that was near the island that we rested in that I would have loved to have gone to but it was too far to walk and I didn't want to swim, so we started kayaking towards there. Here are some pictures.
Here is Watson Lake.

And I rightfully name this island Sock Monkey Island...

That's my leaky kayak.

Sock Monkey is defying gravity!

Almost there!
My mom's kayak was above the water, and by the time she had fully turned around, I was halfway down the lake. I got to the island and pulled my kayak onto the island so I wouldn't have to stand on the island feeling really stupid while my mom chased down my kayak for me. Also, I found the shell of a crayfish on the island. Which means there were crayfish in the lake. Which is yet another reason why I didn't want to swim. Afterwards, we decided to go back to the pier but there was a strong headwind so it took a rather long time to get back to the pier. It took us one hour. Most of that time was used for going back. Because it was really hard. Anyway, we decided to go have an early dinner and went to the best restaurant called The Lone Spur Café but that was closed because it was Sunday. So we stopped by the second best restaurant called the Raven Café but that was also closed because it was Sunday. Then, we went to the third best restaurant called the Devil's Pantry and thankfully, it was open. The food there is really good, so I highly recommend it. I decided to get some Dippin' Dots just because I wanted to try it. If you don't know what Dippin ' Dots are, here's a picture. (Actually, it looks like I can't send the picture because my dad deleted the photo. Sorry!) I have to tell you, that ice cream was cold! And I mean 36 ºF cold. I decided to put the cup of ice cream into a cup of ice water so I didn't freeze my hands. Turns out my hands didn't freeze, the water did. That's how cold it was. After that, we finally went to the hotel, which was called the Prescott Resort. It was really fancy and nice, has a good view, and has a salt water pool. But it also has a casino next to it. As long as you don't go, it's fine. I think that's about it so questions, comments, etc, the comment board is just a click away! Other than that, I guess I'm done so thanks for reading!
